SF bound

It's our anniversary next week!  And miracle of miracles: Brandon was able to swing a few days off of work!  So for the first time since our honeymoon, we are taking a (real) VACATION!  Neither of us have been to SF so we decided that's the destination.  We will be driving (one of my favorite things is driving somewhere new with Brandon.  Being stuck in a car with him is so fun :) so if you know of any places worth stopping at along the way, let us know!  We've already compiled a pretty good bucket list for when we reach the city, but I'd still love any suggestions.

here's what we've got so far
-Coit Tower
-Bob's Donuts
-Tartine
-SFMoMA
-Galleries at 49 Geary
-Alcatraz
-Golden Gate Bridge
-Fisherman's Warf
-SF zoo
-China Town

*we are really the kind of travelers who like to show up without a plan (Brandon especially) and just see and do as we feel.  I'm a bit more of a planner.  I like to make potential lists and if they happen, great.  If not, we'll fill our time with something else.  I just don't want a dull moment ;)

  3. My husband and I went to SF for our anniversary last year and seriously...best trip ever. I think it's my favorite city I've ever been to. We went to a restaurant that was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives called Rocco's Cafe and it was fan-freaking-tastic! That and the Golden Gate Bridge were my favorite parts. Can't wait to hear all about it! :)

  4. I just went to San Fran a week or so ago. It was fun. Don't miss Trish's Mini Donuts on Pier 39 and MAKE SURE to get some Dim Sum from Good Mon Kok in Chinatown. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!! You just have to be ready to point and make number signs, cuz they speak zip English.

  6. We went to Coit Tower and the view just driving up there was gorgeous but the parking lot was full and there were a ton of cars waiting so we just turned around. I would advise you walk if you are going to go there or go early in the morning. Just driving around the streets was really fun to see all the housings and people. I would really like to walk around and go to shops. The Golden Gate Bridge was probably my favorite thing to see though.
