Christmas was wonderful this year.  We spent it hopping back and forth between our families, ya know "second breakfast, second dinner" style.  (speaking of, was I the only one confused when the hobbit ended?! two more movies?! sheesh.)  oh, and I fell off my vegan wagon and ate butter-everything our traditional apple-sauce-puffs, apple pie, and MASHED POTATOES! and it's been worth every tummy ache!  We got spoiled by our parents with big kid toys: a food processor and a scary looking blender that is smarter than me.  oh, and a head lamp; that santa is so practical ;).  We gave homemade gifts: scarfs for all the girls and ties for all the men.  And the plan was to go simple on gifts for each other, but brandon broke them and spoiled me too and now I'm just plain rotten.  Besides the cardinals hat I got for Brandon, his favorite gift was a "white christmas", he seriously can't stop talking about it.  Neither of us ski or snowboard, but snow just seems to make sense on Christmas (and it promises for a greener summer which means camp fires! yippee!)  and would you even believe it's almost the new year?
crazy stuff.

hope you had a very merry Christmas!!

merry merry

First of all, a HUGE thanks for all the support last friday for our first ever Renegade Brigade (more on that later) and the sweet birthday wishes :)  My birthDAY is turning into birthMONTH.  and hey, who's gonna complain about that?  I had birthday lunch with besties today, Brandon and I are going on a birthday date tonight, I'm having dinner with another friend this weekend, and a family get together next week.  birthmonth.  it's the new thing.

Anyway, I couple matters of business.  First of all, the world is likely to end this Friday, so you should get your betsy bows while you can ;) And in support of the holiday spirit and feeling extra merry this wednesday, I'm offering 15% off all orders placed before december 20th.  But it should really probably say by December 20th (meaning you can still order on the 20th).  That way I can get orders shipped on the 21st and at your homes by the 23rd!  They seriously make the perfect little gifts (think stocking stuffers) and I wore one as a bowtie on my shirt today.  So, it's like a twoferone, which is awesome.
get your betsy bows here

Also, I have a lot of changes happening to the shop come 2013 (that is, if the world doesn't really end on friday) including betsy bows in 15 new colors, bigger bows, and finally that geode jewelry I keep gossiping about (It really exists, I swear).  So lets cross our fingers that the Mayans were wrong.

and....I finally have an about page.  I doesn't really say anything about me, but ya know, it's whatever.
check it out ------->

And hey, how about 399 followers!  I look at that and have to laugh out loud....I don't know what's keeping y'all around but I'm glad you are here :)

the double circle scarf

Britt's lovely hand-crocheted double circle scarfs will be ON SALE at the Renegade Brigade Pop-Up Shop this weekend!  I'm dying over this one in "wine".  She uses the softest thickest yarn (I can't stand that itchy cheap stuff on my sensitive skin) and it's the perfect size loop!  I'm all about a practical scarf, it's gotta keep me warm, but looking good never killed anyone right?  Britt's scarfs do it both: functional yet lovely.

Make sure to check out her shop, Fishes Fishes, and don't forget to share the love and get 15% off one item (including sale items) !!!

more info and instructions for 15% off deal here

BOWS BOWS BOWS!!

A Handmade Christmas Event

I can't even tell you how hyped Britt and I for this shin dig!  We've been scheming this baby for a while and it's finally coming!  We'll be selling handmade goods (not yet featured in our shops!) at discounted prices: bows, books, cards, banners, bags, jewelry, and original art works by our good friend Ellie! Plus yummy treats, christmas vinyls, and of course good company :)

AND....we'd love it if you helped us spread the word!
We are offering an additional 15% off one item* to anyone who blogs about the event.  All you  have to do is write a blog post (include the above image, if you'd like), make sure you include a link to this post or Britt's post, and then simply leave a comment on this post telling me you did so!  We'll gather a list of bloggers who helped us out, all you have to do is come to the party and claim your 15%!

Everyone is welcome to come, eat some yummy treats, and meet other like-minded makers-of-things.

*must be used on the night of the Pop-Up Shop.

I know I've been AWOL.  And It's not like I need to apologize or anything, after all this is just a made up space on the web that I claim, cause the web has endless real estate that you can just tack a sign in.  Regardless I am sorry.  Mostly to myself.  Despite the lack of excitement here, my real life has been a complete whirlwind.  It's pre-finals week....which if you ask me is like 10 million times worse than finals week.  And I celebrate the day I was born next Friday (!!).  And I have a piece in a group show, Busy Being Born, that'll be up this and next week.  If you are thinking you might want to come, you are a great person.  It's on BYU campus in Provo in the Harris Fine Arts Center (HFAC) in gallery 303.  There are a ton of show openings that night that promise to impress.  AND....I'm bringing fancy water.  Don't know what that is?  You'll have to come to find out.  If you decide not to come, that's fine.  But might I suggest something else to entertain you that night?  Brandon and I have made it a personal goal to watch every Nick Cage film we can get our hands on.  Cause we hate him.  And when I say hate I mean we love to hate him.  I know we aren't alone cause someone puts cut outs of his face all over campus.  They must love to hate him too.  They have a hate crush on him.  Anyway, we found a Nick Cage film that I actually sincerely love to love: "Raising Arizona".  So watch that.  Or come to my show.  Or better yet, do both.

Your welcome for giving you so many options to fill a boring Thursday evening.
