update:

update on the boots:
i got them today!
right before i left for work.
but of course i could not leave them home alone.
i mean...they'd be alone? right?!
so i had to completely change my outfit.
but it was well worth it!

the only ONLY only downside to the boots is...
they stink.
the boots stink.
they smell like old smoker-nast.

i will love them yet.
the end.

p.s. yes it's one a.m.
p.p.s. yes i need a bedtime
p.p.p.s. goodnight

Girls Weekend!

for some miraculous reason, I was not scheduled to work this last weekend!  So I decided to take a much needed mini vaca to St. George.
oh and I invited mother and sissy to come along as well :)
we had hoots and hollars all weekend long!
activities included:
  • excessive trips to walmart for goodies
  • eating out (just about every meal)
  • laying around the pool
  • seeing "My Sister's Keeper" in theaters (i bawled. nay....i sobbed.)
  • finding some amazing deals in the somewhat disappointing outlet shops
  • catching up on my latest good read: Angela's Ashes
  • oh and i can't forget: HARRY POTTER MARATHON!

t'was swell.

LET FREEDOM RING!

I love this day.
It started out with this:

(we ran the 10k! and I just about died…both brother and dad kicked my sorry behind.  Ps thanks Em for not letting me give up!  Hope I didn’t slow you down)
and it ended with a bunch of booms and bright colors AKA: stadium of FIRE!
My adorable sister sang in the Stadium Choir so for the first time in years, my family decided to go to the Stadium of Fire!  I’d been the last couple years with friends and have always loved it but something was different this year.  Yeah I loved SheDaisy and the Jonas Brothers and of course those sweet jets that fly above etc etc.  but there was just a different feeling.
Patriotism.  I felt it, did you?
A couple minutes in I turned to my mother, and sure enough, she and I had twinner tears in our eyes.  Maybe it was the way they focused on the flag.  Or maybe it was seeing all the soldiers sitting with their families on the field, and thinking of the thousands still out there.  Or maybe it was the little 2 year old in front of us rocking out to those 3 brothers.
Or maybe it was all of it.  Maybe it was reminding me of how lucky I am.
Lucky because I live and breath American air every day, while some people dream their whole lives of that feeling.
Glen Beck (the host) said something that stuck with me.  He said (not a direct quote) the flag is only what we make it, and it stands for everything we hope it to be.
We are blessed.  To have families.  To have religion.  To have a voice that is respected and heard.
Imagine never opening your mouth in fear you wouldn’t be respected.
Imagine never breathing in this freedom.
God bless the USA

p.s.

After a wonderful start to my day with shae and a successful shoot, I happened upon a very unfortunate event called:

getting my car towed.
by the very un-agreeable mr Ryan the towman.

i'm a good girl I am....so of course i wasn't breaking the law.  the whole thing was a huge misunderstanding that unfortunately hasn't turned in my favor....yet.

but even after my crying, pleading, and every classic trick in the book, he wouldn't budge.  I made quite the scene though.  Every car that drove by slowed down enough to get a look at my pathetic face.  But a sweet old lady drove by and actually chewed him out for making me cry.

Dear lady,

if i knew your name and your address i'd send you a very sincere thank you card.

oh I almost forgot: Ryan was oh-so-kind and instead of taking my car to the tow shop he charged me only SEVENTY DOLLARS to drop it right then and there.

What a saint

Dear Ryan,

This is not the end.
And my statement remains the same: yes you are just "doing your job" but I think it's a pretty crummy job
