ode to sunflowers

Dear Sunflowers,

I can't thank you enough for being a part of my happiness lately.  You seem to be connected to everything good!  I admire you, always looking to the sun!  we could all learn a valuable lesson from you :)  Thanks for being a constant reminder that I am loved.  And thank you for being such amazing models for my amateur photos, you make me feel like a pro!

till next summer,
kitty

p.s. you are even pretty when you are wilting!

do you ever...

there are a few things I just can't say no to.
one of them: a great bargain.
another: a good read.
here's my latest finds...
(75% off of course)

a few good reads to add to my never ending collection :)
too bad i have to spend any minute i get reading TEXTBOOKS! bleh.

Dear Books,
i'm sorry I haven't visited you in while.  I promise someday, someday I'll be back.  Someday I'll be able to read for the sake of reading.  I'll read what I want when I want.  And I'll read you.  So please keep finding your way on my shelf.  You look very pretty there, can't wait to see what you have to say.

till someday,
xoxox kitty.

i'm not one to brag....

but how could I resist keeping my mouth shut about such a wonderful thing!!
so i rightfully boast.

My family lives in Orem.
I live in Provo.
Thats a 15 min drive.
12 if I drive fast.
and yet i miss them so dearly.
i can't go even 6 hours without talking to my mom.  we send each other little "sweet nothings" to get through the day.

from: mommy
I love you so much.  You are strong, capable, smart and wise...i wanna be you when i grow up! xo mother superior (from the sound of music!)

from: me
i love you to the moon.

what would i do without this wonderful lady as my mother?

isn't she beautiful?

I believe this is the first photo I was truly proud of.  NOT because of the quality, composition etc., in that sense it doesn’t even compete for my best.  But I was so proud of it because I actually captured my Sister’s personality.  Anyone who knows Carmen, feels that glow of energy that she radiates in this photo.

I think that’s what I love so much about photography; every once in a while I’m blessed to actually capture, in a sense, the soul or truth of something in a tangible way.

(that is unless I lose the file somewhere on my computer…which happens ALL THE TIME) oh bless my poor un-tech savvy heart.

i am a fine-tuned running machine

you'll never guess what i did.

i ran.  really hard.  really fast.  and really far.

pops signed me up.

brother, cousin, and uncle + 7 others relayed with us.

THE BEST PART: we ran through some of Utah's finest beauties: Zions, Brian Head, even a bit-o-the Ranch.  All of which reminded me how loved and blessed we are by our Heavenly Father.

Boy did i feel good running through the finish line.

and Boy oh Boy am i hurting now!

* i made the unforgivable mistake of not taking henry with me.  I was afraid i'd focus too much on taking photos instead of running.  so i took my dinky old digital.  :( sorry henry, you would have loved it.
